'Funny in Five' - Stand-Up Workshop
What is Funny in Five?
It's a weekend of two half-day, stand-up comedy workshops. Run by award winning comedian, 'So You Think That's Funny?' finalist, actor, podcaster and writer - Jo Burke.
Who is it for?
Do you love making people laugh? Do you think you are funny? Do your friends constantly tell you to try stand-up? Or do you just fancy giving it a go, to shake things up a bit and try something new, that's outside of your comfort zone? Then this weekend is for you. I create a safe, supportive and fun environment where you will gain confidence and learn tips and tricks to enable you to create and improve your 'First Five' minutes of stand-up material. Which will give you the confidence to book yourself in to any Open Mic night on the circuit.
On Saturday morning from 10-2 we will all work together to find our funny and start working out and shaping your first five minutes of material. Saturday afternoon/evening you will need to set aside the time to start learning and rehearsing your material. I will send you off with tips and tricks of the trade to help you.
On Sunday we meet at 2pm to work on your material and performance until 5pm. We will then use the space to perform your pieces in the same style as an Open Mic night.
I am an actor, comedian, podcaster and writer with over twenty years experience up my massive sleeves. I am also an NLP Master Practitioner. To check out my website just click on 'About Jo' above.
