'Funny in Five' Zoom 1-2-1 Stand-Up Course
What is Funny in Five Zoom?
A weekend of bespoke 1-2-1 tuition over two half-days, in stand-up comedy that takes place via Zoom. Run by award-winning comedian, 'So You Think That's Funny?' finalist, actor, podcaster and writer - Jo Burke.
Who is it for?
Do you love making people laugh? Do you think you are funny? Do your friends constantly tell you to try stand-up? Or do you just fancy giving it a go, to shake things up a bit and try something new, that's outside of your comfort zone? Then this weekend is for you. I create a safe, supportive and fun environment where you will gain confidence and learn a tips and tricks to enable you to create and improve your 'First Five' minutes of stand-up material. Which will give you the confidence to book yourself in to any Open Mic night on the circuit.
What happens?
On Saturday from 11am-2pm we will work together to find your funny and start working out and shaping your first five minutes of material. Saturday afternoon/evening you will need to set aside the time to start learning and rehearsing your material. I will send you off with tips and tricks of the trade to help you.
On Sunday we meet at 2pm to work on your material and performance until 3.30pm when we will have a break, then you will perform your routine as if at an Open Mic. I will provide feedback and answer any questions you have about starting out in comedy and booking Open Mic gigs until we finish at 5pm.
This course can also be taken mid-week over two evenings 6pm until 9pm.
