I love making up new words like 'galliversary'. Phil and I can't believe it's our fourth anniversary of officially opening our beloved gallery/retail/creative space, Custard HQ, this coming weekend.
We have also made it to five years of being consciously (well, most of the time) coupled. To celebrate these momentous milestones and the fact we adore halloween, we are 'slashing' prices in store and online this weekend 28th/29th October.
Don't forget you can now buy our books and Phil's stunning original artwork and prints on our website too. Hooray! You can also buy workshops and 1-2-1 tuition from Phil and me, should you wish to paint or perform. Workshops are a smashing excuse to get a group of friends or family together to make something and challenge yourself, while having a glass fizz and listening to some top tunes.
All our prints and books ordered online come with FREE P&P. Please do take a minute to have a look at CUSTARDHQ.COM we only have a small retail space, so there is, in fact, more available online now than at the gallery.

Party time!
As you will know if you've kept up with the blog, and why wouldn't you? I only post two a year. Phil and I had a halloween themed wedding or 'weddoween' as I renamed it back in 2018. We decided now was the perfect time to have another halloween themed party to celebrate our fifth year in chains. We do love a party and lucky for us so do our brilliant friends and family.

We will be putting together our Christmas window display next week, so we thought we'd take a moment to look back on our previous crimbo windows. It's amazing how we've grown. Look how bare our first one was...then a few months later the world locked down...unbelievable.

Last blog of 2023
As this is likely to be the last blog of 2023, we would like to take a moment to thank all the wonderful humans and woofers that came through our door, who we spoke to online or held private viewings for via Zoom or Whatsapp. Without you Custard HQ wouldn't exist.
We love what we do, not least because so often our work is purchased for special occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, weddings or Christmas gifts. It genuinely gives us a warm fuzzy feeling inside knowing that what we've created will be cherished and on display for years to come.
This year tourism seems to have been be back to normal. Knowing that our art and books can now be found in offices, schools and homes in Germany, Netherlands, USA, New Zealand, Singapore, Belgium and of course our closest neighbour France, is pure bliss.
It's been such a pleasure meeting people from all over the globe this year, seeing them fall in love with our little corner the world enough to want to take a piece of it, and us, home with them.
What else you been up to Burke?
Between this blog and the last one in March, I have written/directed and performed my latest comedy/cabaret show 'Instaphamous' as a work-in-progress at both the Bath (April) and Brighton (May) Fringe Festivals, as well as a London performance (June) at the magical Museum of Comedy.
I am still tweaking it and am aiming to do more in 2024.

During the whole of September I attempted to run/walk/crawl 3.3km every day in order to complete The Great Ormond Street 100K in September fundraiser. I raised £600 so huge 'thank you' to all my generous family and friends. I broke myself several times but managed to complete it.
