We are delighted to announce we now have an exciting gallery/creative space by the sea! Custard HQ was born on 24th October 2019 at 42 The Old High Street, Folkestone CT20 1RN. It's part of Folkestone's amazing Creative Quarter and is on a beautiful, old cobbled road, that leads directly to Folkestone Harbour. It's literally a two minute walk.
The outside needs painting and we are making a Custard HQ sign for the front so still lots to do. Take a look at the short video below, to see all the hard work we've already put into making our wonderful new creative home. Did I mention it's right by the sea?
Creating Custard HQ:
We finally have our own, quirky, creative haven. Perfect for showcasing the books I write and the amazing artwork Phil produces. Pop in to see Phil painting his next masterpiece. I will be writing my next two books there and of course, you are welcome to browse and buy the original books, art and gifts that we have already created.
In this age of mass production, huge brands, and sadly, greed, it's important to remind you that EVERYTHING in Custard HQ and our online store, is created by us, two regular humans, with nothing but, love, a hell of a lot of blood, sweat and, we won't lie, tears. Not a Chief Exec, massive bonus, marketing team, web designer or agent in sight. We do it all. It's 100% driven by our passion to create and tell stories with words and art. When you buy from us the money goes directly into our next book or artwork.
Setting up Custard HQ means we are now able to run small, but perfectly formed, workshops for beginners in art and creative writing. We are all about connecting with people in the real world and encouraging creative confidence. Woo hoo!
