I can't believe my last blog was ten months ago...boy have we been busy bees.
Let me start by introducing you to our latest book, The Folkestone Five, below are the front and back covers:
The Folkestone Five was officially launched into the wild on 22nd August. Here are some photos from the book launch held at the stunning Kollectiv gallery here on The Old High Street, they are right next to Folkestone's very own Banksy. Huge thanks to owners Katie and Joseph who hosted our event so perfectly.
We were delighted that the Folkestone Fishing Folk joined us for the launch, they are rarely sighted outside of the harbour. So we had trouble 'catching' them. We are super grateful to Tony Quarrington from Go Folkestone who helped get them on board, so to speak.
You can of course order and find out more about The Folkestone Five via www.custardhq.com or pop in to see us.
NEW TO CUSTARD HQ - Unique cushion covers and tea towels
On another, but still seagull related, note we have designed some new additions that are sure to brighten up your home or office and put a smile on your face every day.
HOME is where the heart is...
Enough about seagulls, here's some news about a different kind of bird a 'Home Bird'. I am so excited to share, that as well as all the above, we moved house, 2024 has been quite the year... and it's only August. Most of you will know Phil and his family are born and bred Folkestone folk and I am a South East Londoner, with a seaside soul. The launch was an opportunity to raise a glass not only to the new book, but to new beginnings, many new chapters and even more new adventures on paper and in real life.
Thank you to all those who continue to support, appreciate and spread the word about our work. You have no idea how much you mean to us. To have so many pre-sales for The Folkestone Five made our hearts sing.
Ooh before I forget, the other thing I've been doing this year is a new FREE weekly podcast called Utter Burke, have a listen here or wherever you get your pods.
Next stop... Christmas...
I've usually designed our Christmas window by now. When I say designed, you know I really mean drawn a stick version and explained it in terms Phil finds hard to decipher. It might have to be a much simpler design this year. Our new house was last decorated circa late 70's early 80's, so we need to completely refurbish. The glare from the walls and carpets are really quite disturbing and the bathroom looks like a Swedish sauna...
Please do have a listen to the new podcast, pop in to see us or visit our website www.custardhq.comÂ
Keep creative.
