Inspirational Venice

Custard Towers closed for a little mini break during the Easter Holidays. Illustrator Phillip Price and I headed to stunning Venice for some inspiration.

I felt like I'd been dropped into a masterpiece and allowed to wander around inside. Everywhere you looked was another breathtaking view.

One of my favourite finds was the amazing bookshop in the photos below. I was overjoyed to see best selling novelist of all time, Agatha Christie, in this rare Venetian curiosity. Proving you can't beat a good whodunnit!

As you can see there were piles upon piles of books. Books in a Gondola, stairs made of books and a cat taking a nap amongst the books.

Just up the staircase made of books was, not more books, but another beautiful canal. Venice has 177 canals to be exact and over 400 bridges. We walked twenty-six miles in three days.

Phillip and I were blown away by the colours of the houses on Burano one of the islands known for it's lace. Take a look below:

Our hotel overlooked one of the many elegant canals. I loved waking up and nodding off to the sounds of the hustle and bustle of the endlessly flowing water traffic and Italian conversation. There was something magical about it. It's hilarious to think the equivalent in London would be staying in a hotel overlooking the M40 which would be neither magical or flowing!

Hope you enjoyed your Easter break too.

We'll be back with more exciting news very soon...
